My current position for the last 11 years at ACC is a Senior Area of Study Advising Specialist/Student Affairs at the Hays campus in Kyle, TX. My job responsibilities are to advise and counsel undergraduates and prospective students through our Guided Pathways. My Area of Study is Health Science and Computer Science/Computer Information Systems. Maintain confidentiality. Adhere and enforce college academic policies and regulations. Assist students with degree plans, course information and process. Recruit students for the college. Assist Dual Credit Students with high school/college courses and enrollment. Ensure all (TSI) Texas Success Initiative requirements are met. Assisting students with transferring to their choice of 4-‐Year Institutions is one of my passions. Conduct researches/special projects related to college retention. Monitor student’s progress. I have participated and or currently participating on the following councils and committees: Veteran's Advisory Board (Current); Transfer Service Committee (Current); Advising Forum (Current); ACC Constitution Debate Day(Current); ACC/Gardner Betts Juvenile Center (Current); ACAN; ACC Gospel Extravaganza Choir; ACC Presidential Student Achievement Award Committee (Current); ACC Who's Who Committee; Assessment & Advising Committee; Summer Youth Leadership Institute; AOS (Area of Study) Co-Presenter for SAC (South Austin Campus); Black Student Success Committee; Mentor Program Steering Committee; Foster Care Alumni. I have participated and or currently participating in the community by Handing out Destiny Apostolic Ministries Food Bags to Homeless on the Street Corners in North, South Austin and Kyle (Current); Annually Distribute with "Works of Our Hands" Clothing and School Supplies for the Children in the Eastside Community in Givens Park; Grants for GOD (Student Group) that teaches Art courses to Low Income Children in their Neighborhoods in East Austin and Assisted with the ACC Riverside Food Pantry and Resources.
