About Nelissa Jamora

Nelissa is an agricultural economist with over a decade of experience in international development, currently leading the monitoring and evaluation of global programs and projects at the Crop Trust. Her work ensures accountability, learning, and strategic impact across initiatives that safeguard crop diversity and promote the use of plant genetic resources in genebanks. Since joining the Crop Trust in 2015, she has worked closely with donor agencies, international/regional/national genebanks, and implementing partners to generate robust evidence, guide strategic investments, and foster collaboration within the global system for crop diversity conservation. Her professional interests include: international agricultural development, commodity price analysis, impact assessment, and agricultural policy. She has a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Göttingen in Germany and an MSc degree from Michigan State University. Nelissa received a U.S. Fulbright academic degree scholarship in 2004 and a grant for early-researchers in 2014 from the German Research Foundation. She was recognized as a Young Rice Scientist at the International Rice Congress in 2014 for her work on rice price analysis.
