About Nell Baker

I have always found purpose, understanding and a sense of belonging through physical movement in outdoor spaces. Guided by my deep passion for endurance sports and an unwavering commitment to the betterment of the spaces I explore, my graduate research investigated complex gender issues present when participating in nature sports in Alaska. This project sought to understand how the outdoor industry can better facilitate breaking barriers to participation in outdoor spaces through authentic, relevant communication efforts. As a marketing professional, I offer a unique perspective when creating communication strategies centered around outdoor recreation, adventure, and physical and mental health. I carry with me five plus years of collegiate cross country and track experience, further connecting me to and grounding me in the endurance community.
