Background Trained on a HND Design course specializing in Furniture Design 1992 - 94. 1995, employed by Spindlewood Woodturning where I learnt woodturning and managed the side of the business that supplied lamps & candlesticks to Mulberry at Home. 1997, worked for another furniture maker/designer. 1998 - 2011, established my own furniture design and manufacturing business, Nell Beale Furniture. 2007, worked as a freelance designer. During this period I became proficient in CAD and kitchen design. 2009, moved to France for 2 and a half years where I continued designing & making bespoke pieces. 2011, relocated back to the UK. 2011 to present, established CoucouManou, my own collection of furniture. Now located in Aix en Provence, France Since launching in 2012, CoucouManou has been nationally and internationally recognized in the press, including such publications as Elle Décoration, The Guardian, Homes & Gardens, Icon, Vogue, Architectural Digest, The Sunday Times, The Sunday Observer, Metro and many more. My expertise lies in Furniture Design, Cabinet making, Colour expertise, Liaising with clients, Specifying and ordering materials, CAD, Calculating complex cutting lists, Problem solving. My in depth knowledge of cabinet making, timber & colour enables me to design beautiful and functional furniture. I am an organized, hard working and determined person and the success of CoucouManou has been exciting.
