Background
About Nelson Cordeiro
It has been great privilege to be a part of Toyota Motor Manufacturing team now for over 23 years. Front line management in the role of a Production Group Leader, with a continuous improvement mind set, has helped me support short and long term company objectives meeting measurable key performance indicators (KPI’s) through manufacturing and human resource development (HRD). My department experience includes: • Plastics (Injection Molding, Painting, Assembly, Quality Control) • Assembly • Press • Weld • Internal Logistics • External Logistics (Supplier Logistics) • Supplier Production System Development • Quality Control-Inspection • Quality Control- Performance • Paint My current role is in the West Materials Logistics. My team is responsible for receiving and delivering product Just on Time to West Assembly. Previously part of the TPS Team, teaching and training front line management and above in fundamental TPS principles. I was certified for this role as a Standardize Work Kaizen Trainer by NAPSC care of TMC-HR Master Trainer. Supported Suppliers in problem solve and teaching TPS principles. I have been involved in many new model launches as a production group leader, pilot member, and a production lead of a new model launch in Plastic’s. This has given me opportunities to travel to Japan and the United States. Development and implementation of new systems has also be a rewarding role at TMMC. In the earliest stages, I was part of a core group in the implementation of a KPI management system introduced plant wide as a Group Leader Board. I was responsible for the teaching/training, implementation and follow-up. Today this board as evolved into the FMDS Board (Floor Management Development systems). I was also a core Plastics Jishuken member working with OMDD Group at different NAMC's in North America. Specific themes allowed us to focus on system, process and managment issues developing my problem solving skills.
