About Nelson Grima

As the Coordinator of IUFRO's Science-Policy Programme, I design and implement projects and activities that bridge the gap between science and decision-making. My work focuses on generating knowledge products to inform policy and contribute to key forest-related processes, including UNFF, CBD, IPBES, CITES, and other international and intergovernmental frameworks. With a strong academic background in ecosystem services, international forestry, and forest engineering, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of human-nature interactions and their impact on ecosystems, livelihoods, and well-being. My hands-on experience across diverse global regions has further deepened my perspective, allowing me to navigate the complex interplay between science, policy, and sustainable resource management. I am committed to translating research into actionable insights and fostering informed decision-making that drives positive environmental and societal outcomes.
