About Nelson Jallah

I presently serve as the Project Manager for the GEF 7.13 million FOLUR project at Conservation International. As a Project Manager, I am responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient implementation/delivery and monitoring of FOLUR project activities in accordance with and in full compliance with the Government of Liberia, GEF, and CI’s policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures. Before managing the FOLUR project, I also served as a Senior Project Manager for the Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) project, funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and implemented by Conservation International. Additionally, I have experience implementing GEF-funded projects, managing multiple partners - in private and public sectors with good interpersonal skills - and being a team player. I am an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Specialist with a wide range of experience in Environmental Social and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA), Social Safeguards, Gender Impact Assessment, Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) preparation, and Implementation training. Moreover, I have Extensive knowledge and understanding of Social Economic Baseline Study (SEBS), Environmental and Social Management plans of development projects, especially in agriculture, forestry, transportation, mining, energy, raw water transmission, construction, waste management, and private sectors. Considerable experience and knowledge working with donor-funded projects such as World Bank/IFC, EU, and African Development Bank. Cross-cutting expertise in environmental & socio-economic assessments, gender mainstreaming, land acquisition and resettlement, sustainable development, and private sector development. Extensive experience engaging stakeholders and leading impact assessment teams. Extensive Knowledge of Socioeconomic surveys.
