About Nelson Jumbo

Nelson is a 2.1 graduate of History And Diplomatic Studies, relying on my natural altitude for the use of diplomatic skills and alternative dispute resolution in crisis management, coupled with my firm interest in public affairs, to play strategic roles in the effective management of the relations between an organization and her publics, while pursuing further personal and professional growth. My foremost experience was in the banking sector where I gained a practical understanding of corporate governance, and as a marketing intern, I was instrumental to the successful onboarding & upgrade of about accounts for the branch and was one of the branch's most preferred intern having enjoyed a robust & cordial relationship with the staffers & customers alike. With my NYSC posting to the Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, my knowledge received a boast as I served at the Press Office joining a team of Corp members and Communication specialists to cover various government activities in view of effectively showcasing the gains of government & obtaining the support of the citizenry. During my NYSC, I was an active member of the SDGs CDS Group which afforded me the opportunity to successfully implement some of the SDGs. Asides joining advocacies against rape, suicide, & for good health & well being, I partnered likeminds to sensitize students on tropical issues across schools in Ibadan, an activity which I regularly gave myself to from my University days. I also co-ordinated my Batch C colleagues in the SDGs CDS after the elected leadership passed-out of service earlier. All of these experiences from the public & private sectors, coupled with my leadership activities in different fora, & the valuable skills garnered over time, are what I intend to put to bear, as I hope to learn more & extend my experiences through volunteering, internships, graduate trainee & entry-level opportunities in Public Relations & business Communications, my major interests span from Community Engagement to Government Relations, Conflict Resolution & Sustainable Development. I'm a goal getter & keen about growth, I've just applied for a Masters of Public & International Affairs. At present, I'm a Graduate Member of Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management, an Associate of the Institute of Strategic Management and a Student Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. I'm open for recruitment & recommendations.
