I am an Engineer In Training working towards Professional Engineer status with experience in substation design, protection and control, computer networks and web design. I have the ability to successfully interpret customer needs and implement them in creative designs using technical documents, design files, drawings, asset lists, databases and diagrams. I ma a team player great at communicating, collaborating and solving problems with team members, clients and other stakeholders complying with rules and regulations and utilizing industry best practises. This involved helping in the design, maintenance and asset management of office and substation networks. This included setting up, deploying and maintaining routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VoIP telephones and servers. Products were mostly of Cisco Networks but also included Ruggedcom, Juniper, HP and F5 hardware. For the past 3 years I worked at RCM Technologies as a Technical Specialist. There I worked on Substation Design along with Protection and Control. I designed cable routing for thousands of cables for the Lower Churchill Hydro Project. I drafted designs in AutoCad and Microstation of substations. I was project lead on a project for creating an asset database driven Single Line Diagram for and entire transmission network.
