I am an innovative Workplace Relations lawyer experienced in guiding employers across local government, education, healthcare, retail and manufacturing sectors to ensure legal compliance. Common areas I advise on include employee entitlements, conduct and performance management, complex workplace investigations, fitness for duty, workers compensation and general health and safety obligations.I also act for employers in defending claims for unfair dismissal, general protections and workers compensation. I have built good relations with industrial associations and relevant insurers and have high success rates in these defences. While I am to ensure compliance with workplace legislation, my focus is on proactive risk mitigation through preventative strategies to foster safe and productive workplaces. This includes identifying organisational risks and leading mitigatory initiatives, such as the development and implementation of various frameworks and delivering associated training. This also includes strategic planning to minimise costs and risks of employee initiated claims - for example, restructure and redundancy planning.As Manager of Workplace Relations, in addition to the above I work toward building the capability of people leaders to ensure quality outcomes in line with organisational values.
