About Ness Cruz

As an International Relations student at Florida International University, I am passionate about creating positive social change through strategic communication and community engagement. I have gained valuable experience in this field through my internships at USAID and TransSOCIAL, Inc. At USAID, I supported the Action Alliance for Preventing Sexual Misconduct (AAPSM) in developing and implementing strategies to serve USAID's diverse workforce. I contributed to the research and planning stages of initiatives, aligning with AAPSM's goals of fostering a safe and inclusive work environment across USAID's global operations. I also assisted in executing smaller internal focus projects, providing valuable support to the AAPSM team in their efforts to prevent sexual misconduct and promote a culture of respect and allyship within the organization. At TransSOCIAL, Inc, I developed and executed a social media campaign to raise awareness about the organization's legal and health connectivity services for the transgender community. I also assisted in creating educational materials, including pamphlets and workshop content, to support the organization's mission of providing resources and information to the LGBTQ+ community. I represented TransSOCIAL at community events, distributing educational materials and engaging with the South Florida LGBTQ+ community to promote the organization's services and initiatives. Through these experiences, I have honed my skills in social media communications, strategic communications, and international relations. I am eager to apply my knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in the world.
