About Never Mafuse

Never completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Economics from University of Fort Hare in South Africa. He holds a Masters in Management of Development specialising in Rural Development and HIV/AIDS from the University of Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, Part of Wageningen WUR, the Netherlands, a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from University of Zimbabwe, a BSc Honours degree in Agriculture specializing in Agricultural Economics and Management from Bindura University and a National Diploma in Horticulture from Bulawayo Polytechnic. He has published more than twenty papers in refereed journals, one book Chapter, 3 refereed conference papers, one book. Dr Mafuse has supervised more than 20 Msc students and one PhD student is currently under supervision. Dr Mafuse is a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Education and Extension at Bindura University of Science Education. His research interests are in value chains, food systems and climate smart agriculture, economic analysis of crops and animals’ production and marketing, and general agricultural development for food security under smallholder agriculture. He possesses more than fourteen years of experience in providing specialist training on agricultural related disciplines and business advices to individual farmers (women and youth), farmer organisations, cooperatives, farmer groups and other community based organisations specialising in Agricultural production, marketing and climate change. He has skills in evaluating projects such as those dealing with food security, agroecology and climate change among vulnerable groups of society. Additionally, he has extensive training and experience in implementing project monitoring and evaluation systems for development organisations. Conduct on-farm training for small holder and large scale farmers on livestock and crop production, land and livestock management and improvement of livestock marketing systems; integrated soil management, organic agricultural production, small animal husbandry and seed sovereignty. Never has knowledge for mainstreaming of gender, HIV/AIDS, empowering of women, participatory extension and facilitating learning, designing, preparing and developing training and teaching materials.
