About Ngozi Ukpai Okoro

Ngozi Ukpai Okoro is a disability Inclusion and rights advocate. She is currently the community specialist at Project Enable Africa. An organisation she co-founded in 2014 to promote social inclusion for persons with disabilities in Nigeria. She is a 2014 Fellow of the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative (CYFI). She holds a Bachelors in Sociology from the prestigious University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is passionate about creative writing, and most especially when it relates to girls, women, and persons with disability. In 2015, Ngozi Authored “ Needle’s Eye ”, a disability novella that is geared towards advocating for the right, and total inclusion of persons with disabilities. Her creative enthusiasm did not stop there, as it also led her in founding “ Project PAD Her “ in 2017 where she promotes a sound mental health of teen girls, and young women with disabilities by employing creative writing skills. At “ Project PAD her ” initiative, they believe creative writing is an important tool for empowerment and advocacy. Ngozi Ukpai-Okoro is also very passionate about the digital empowerment of women, and girls with disabilities. She is an ardent believer of the saying, “ if the world is going digital, women and girls with disabilities cannot afford to be left behind “. As a visually impaired lady herself, Ngozi is skilled in training both blind and visually impaired persons on the use of the computer, providing accessibility, and technical support for productivity. She is dedicated to creating opportunities for young persons with disabilities, especially girls, and women with disabilities, to access skills, and job opportunities. She is also the alumni engagement coordinator for the Project Enable Africa Alumni Network (PEAAN) where she promotes shared prosperity and personal development for beneficiaries of the Project Enable Africa and also ensure an Inclusive participation in the Network.
