Background
About Nguyen Dao
I am currently working as the ESOL Chair and as a tenured faculty member at Skagit Valley College in Washington State. I obtained my Ph.D. in Culture, Literacy, and Language from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Before moving to the U.S, I used to work as an ESL teacher in Vietnam. Then I earned my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston and worked in Houston for two years as a program coordinator. My professional interests include language learning and teaching, bilingual education, language socialization, multiliteracies, language ideology, and identity. I am particularly passionate about language education for underrepresented communities.
