About Nia Brown

I’m a dynamic and charismatic educator with a legacy of building coalitions and cultivating environments where students from all backgrounds feel empowered and respected. I have a strong background in AVID education, universal learning design, ELA, SPED, ESL, SEL, and Science. I’m also a Certified National Geographic Educator and Certified Middle School ELAR Special Education Instructor with an MBA and Master of Education; and I keep my thumb on the pulse of new best practices, tools, and educational technologies. Licensed to teach in MA, TX, DE, and FL, I’ve had the privilege of holding numerous key roles, including (but not limited to) Title I Teacher, Long-Term Sub, High School Chemistry Teacher, and most recently, ESL Teacher for Boston Public Schools. At my core is the passion to work to engage students, parents, and other community stakeholders to empower students with the tools needed to succeed. And I’m a respecter of differences and understand the importance of utilizing instructional practices and differentiated instruction to facilitate equitable engagement. My legacy of accomplishment includes spearheading and closing achievement gaps by partnering with other teachers to help them implement scaffolding strategies to enhance outcomes. I am an Aerospace Educator with the Civil Air Patrol; and I have garnered numerous awards including the Dale Carnegie Award (2X) for “outstanding performance.” Currently, I live in the Boston area. When I’m not busy empowering students, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy meeting new people and expanding my personal network, so thank you for getting to know me better. Let’s connect. For more information, please contact me directly on LinkedIn or at nia.brown215@gmail.com.
