About Niall Lowry

Concrete is my passion. Even when I was a child in Ireland and would visit the building sites where my father worked, concrete was this magical substance with qualities like nothing else I had ever seen. It is an incredible material with great design and architectural potential I feel is only beginning to be fully realized. I became even more aware of this when I started working in the R&D department of a start-up precast company focusing on producing innovative artistic products. My passion quickly became an obsession, and it has remained that way ever since. I’m a Civil engineer specializing in the production and management of concrete precast projects. After completing my studies in Ireland, I moved to the United States. Here, I seized the opportunity to work for a start-up company working specifically with precast. This was an amazing opportunity in which I immersed myself fully. I got to experience firsthand the trials and tribulations of establishing a new company in this industry and setting up a facility from scratch, learning how to overcome failures and solve big problems using teamwork and bold commitment to our mission. This was an exciting period in my career and it greatly accelerated my learning and understanding of concrete precast from the ground-up. Initially, when the team was small, we each wore many hats. An average day for me could easily consist of anything from stripping forms, mixing concrete, cleaning buckets, pricing jobs, ordering materials, meeting clients, and finally - researching and developing new ideas and methods that had never been seen or used before in concrete. As the company grew, I officially became the production manager and oversaw a wide variety of projects from small-residential to mid-size commercial, working incredibly hard to measure and optimize my performance in this role. Most of our projects were unique and distinct from ones we had done previously, each requiring a lot of thinking outside-the-box and planning to produce the most efficient, cost-effective result on schedule. With several years of experience managing production as well as extensive experience in the creative design process, I feel very confident in my ability to quickly recognize inefficiencies, solve complex problems in time-sensitive situations, and increase profits for the company.
