About Nicea Gumbo

With over two decades of dedicated service in the United Nations, International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs), and Government, I have made significant contributions at technical and policy advisory, and managerial levels in the fields of human rights and international humanitarian law, Gender equality, disability and social inclusion, women economic empowernment ending violence against women and girls, Protection (GBV & child protection), safeguarding, PSEA, AAP, Food Security, Nutrition, Livelihoods, Governance, Women leadership and participation, climate change, etc, in both the development and humanitarian context. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting human rights, GEDSI, protection, AAP, PSEA, and Safeguarding. My diverse roles have allowed me to lead and contribute to a wide range of initiatives, from policy development to program management, institutional strengthening, capacity building, advocacy and coordination within the UN system, INGOs, Government, and with various stakeholders. My educational foundation includes a Master's in Women's Law/Gender Studies, a Master's in Constitutional and Human Rights Law (pending), a Bachelor of Laws Honors Degree, and project management certification. These academic achievements have equipped me with the necessary knowledge and skills to engage effectively in the dynamic and multifaceted world of international development and humanitarianism.
