About Nichita Madan

My passion lies in sustainability — and in the real-world, complex intersections between environmental goals, policy, and technology. At EFRAG, I’ve grown from intern to Junior Technical Manager, contributing to the development of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), particularly in circular economy, resource use, and sector-specific topics. I’ve contributed to technical research, Q&A processes (as a project) and responses, supported cross-sector work (Power Production and Energy Utilities, Textiles, Agriculture), mentored colleagues, and improved systems and workflows. I also took initiative to explore how large language models (LLMs) could support sustainability reporting processes, leading to the development of EFRAG’s initial AI pilot project — a direction I believe can meaningfully support the future of reporting. Beyond EFRAG, I bring experience from EU institutions, startups, and innovation hubs in France, Denmark, and Eastern Europe. I’m an ex-EPSO ambassador and continue to build a strong network across sustainability, compliance, and AI. I’m curious, practical, and impact-driven — and I’m exploring how to expand my work externally, through strategic collaborations and consulting in sustainability, circularity, and digital innovation.
