Nick has many years of experience working with business teams and IT Departments defining business objectives, identifying and mapping existing processes, and designing improved ones. His quality systems experience with Defense and Aerospace helps him lead effective Technical Discovery sessions that guide the Pleiades team and our clients in collecting the data and analyzing the information needed to structure complex interactive data within the information design framework. Nick’s professional career has focused on designing and developing information architectures. His goal has always has been to help organizations access their information efficiently and used it effectively to meet their goals. He created massive mainframe databases in the 1970s, helped publishing companies migrate to database-driven publishing in the 1980s, and connected databases to the web since the 1990s. He has written numerous training courses, articles, and seminars on information design, database architecture, data security best practices and web development. Nick has presented at conferences in over 100 cities across the US, England, and Scandinavia. His work reflects his dedication to using technology to discover, organize, manage and communicate business intelligence. Nick Batik has dedicated decades of his professional life to data systems design and administration, data modeling, and developing custom reporting structures. He specializes in the art and science of structuring information so that it can be used efficiently and effectively. Over his many years as an information designer, Nick has researched and developed a wide range of projects, including market research, feasibility studies, financial information, administrative and management reports, user guides, technical manuals, mind-mapping, and directional information. Nick specializes the system design and implementation of custom, often complex web-based solutions that address client data management issues.
