About Nicholas Bennett
I'm an interdisciplinary designer. Engaging with both the natural and the manufactured world, problem-solving through making and offering alternative perspectives on infrastructures with a post-disciplinary outlook. Constructing objects & mechanisms that focus on obscure places such as sewers, golf courses and vantage points, my work aims to encourage dialogue. I look to developed projects patiently, taking care to fashion the objects appropriately for the surrounding environment and the communities in which they stand. I want to be an advocate for ideation, with studio culture and communication playing a vital and stabilising role in my practice. With experience in delivering workshops, both my own and my participants' interactivity spurs the testing of concepts socially and physically through structures and tools for new pedagogies. Technically I have expertise in metal fabrication, carpentry, textiles, the adobe suite, rhino, print and photography.
