About Nicholas Bennett

I am a student at The University of Florida at The Heavener School of Business, majoring in the Science of Business Administration. Learning how to write professionally, speak, and manage people in the workplace, as well as performing technical skills that take place behind the scenes of a business, are a few of the important topics I have been studying. I have 5+ years of experience working as a floor instructor at Gainesville Health and Fitness. I have accumulated skills in communication by working with members, and helping with problems, knowledge of the fitness industry by learning what each machine does and how to work out different muscle groups correctly. I have been in scenarios, good and bad, working with with members that have taught me valuable skills of how to treat people while helping with a problem. I found that I work best when busy and under some stress that the job throws at me. I was apart of the DECA organization in high school, where you compete in entrepreneurial projects with people all across the world. My project was performing as a race director for three years, raising money for a local school in the Gainesville area, raising more than twelve thousand dollars. For the competition, my team of three placed first, and second, for the three years, I did the project at the state level. For the international level, my team placed top 10 out of 93 other competitive projects in California. Participating in DECA back in high school taught me how much I loved business and creating something successful from nothing, and is the reason I am at the University of Florida today.
