About Nicholas Boucher

I am currently working as a Scientific Research Technician at the University of New Brunswick. In the Spring of 2021, I graduated with a Bachelor's of Computer Science from UNB Fredericton. I have completed four Co-op terms, one with Environment and Climate Change Canada in Oromocto N.B, and three with Vestcor Inc. in Fredericton N.B. Over the course of my work experiences, I performed many tasks that helped me develop my technical and soft skills. By working as a programmer analyst at Environment and Climate Change Canada, I improved my programming skills and gained experience in testing software and working in a testing environment. While at Vestcor Inc, I diagnosed and resolved software and hardware issues and installed/upgraded software and hardware. By performing these tasks, I was able to improve upon my problem solving, time management and interpersonal skills, among others. For information on my current position, please see my profile. In addition to my degree in computer science, I obtained a minor in history which aided me in improving my research, communication and critical thinking abilities. One aspect of my current position I really love is having the opportunity to travel. I highly value travel, both in my professional and personal life. Traveling for work is something I look for when seeking employment opportunities. I also look for fast paced, team oriented workplaces. I highly value my own time and I regard my employer's time as having similar value. Meaning I aim to make the most out of my working hours and complete as much work as possible to the highest quality. A bit about my interests: As I mentioned above, I deeply enjoy travelling. Whether that be North of the Arctic Circle, South of the equator, to one of North America's many great cities and anywhere else I get the opportunity to visit. I also take pleasure in the study of history and elementary astronomy. I do my best to stay fit and healthy while also enjoying the many delicious things life has to offer. And like every computer science graduate, a love of video games goes without question.
