About Nicholas Brown

Over the past six years, I have worked in a range of GIS Consultant and Surveyor roles. I am currently a GIS Technician for Shell QGC. Throughout my career, I have built a reputation as a driven and dedicated Survey and GIS professional with a passion for facilitating and delivering GIS requirements and activities. As a GIS Technician at Shell QGC, I am responsible for producing high-quality cartographic outputs using ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro, managing spatial data sets, facilitating the GIS requirements for safety management and design review meetings, packaging spatial data deliverables for clients, and more. Throughout my time in the role, I have also achieved a number of goals. Some of these include developing FME Workbench scripts and quality checking our work for the GIS department and others to significantly improve work completion time and accuracy, and developing maps and workflows that were used for HSSE critical products. Aside from being a GIS Consultant, I also work as a Survey Manager, and have previously taken on roles as a GIS Consultant, Survey/Civil Draftsman, and a Survey Assistant. Aside for my passion for geographic information systems, I also have a keen interest in getting the most out of my teammates while helping them grow. This includes empowering and inspiring colleagues to be their best selves at work in both group and individual settings. While I take my job seriously, I don’t take myself too seriously, and like to be upbeat, open and approachable to all colleagues and clients.
