About Nicholas Day

Nicholas is a transportation professional with over 12 years of experience in the USA, Canada, and the Middle East where he has led a wide range of multi-modal transportation planning, demand forecasting, data analysis, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects. His project experience includes Business Cases, Transportation Master Plans, Community Plans, Municipal Class Environmental Assessments, and other long-term planning studies at the municipal, regional, and provincial level. Currently, his team is responsible for network planning for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) region’s long-term transit network. This includes leading the analysis, data collection, and municipal engagement that supports Metrolinx's Frequent Rapid Transit Network (FRTN) Prioritization Framework for un-funded projects. He previously managed the Modelling & Geomatics team at Metrolinx, which conducts ridership forecasting and geospatial analysis across the Planning Business Unit. Nicholas excels at managing complex studies that combine analytical methods, best practice research, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and governance processes. He has delivered multiple high profile assignments with public presentations to the Metrolinx Board of Directors and has been a speaker and presenter at multiple academic and industry conferences and panels.
