About Nicholas Doddrell

I am an experienced professional in the agricultural sector with a deep knowledge of the food supply chain from "farm-to-fork". Having worked in this field from academic, industry, and corporate perspectives, I hold a broad and extensive understanding of the challenges facing modern agriculture. In my current role, I am employed as a consultant food scientist with CWA International investigating causes of loss and damage to food and agricultural commodities during marine shipment. This has provided me with cargo specific knowledge of cereals and oilseeds, animal feeds, and fresh produce, in addition to the diverse range of skills required of the effective consultant. I have previously graduated with a PhD exploring field-based limitations and genetic manipulation of strawberry primary metabolism, with an aim to improve fruit yield and quality. This provided me with a thorough background in agronomy, biotechnology, and the horticultural industry while enlightening me to the opportunities afforded when basic science is applied to solve real world problems.
