About Nicholas Garelis
I am currently working as an academic postdoc at UC Berkeley, with the intention of transitioning to biotech in the Bay Area in the near future. I am looking to learn about biotech and make connections relevant to the biotech industry. I completed a PhD in Molecular & Cell Biology at UC Berkeley in 2024, where I studied cell biology and the host immune response during Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. My lab expertise includes genome-wide CRISPR screens in human cells, CRISPR cutting and CRISPR interference, RT-qPCR, RNA-seq, cytometric bead array immunoassay, immunoblotting, mammalian tissue culture, molecular cloning, flow cytometry, bioinformatic analysis with particular focus on R programming, BSL2 and BSL3 technique, and various other laboratory skills.
