About Nicholas Geyer

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY- When I went through my mother's cancer, I learned two important life rules: 1) Life is short and 2) success is measured on your terms, not someone else's. It was then that I developed my personal motto:"There's no growth in the comfort zone. While there's no comfort in the growth zone." I thirst to develop my career toward success. I ask myself daily: Is there something I can do better? Learn more about? Work harder while being smarter? I work really well in and helping to lead a team. My personality is very autodidactic (self-learner) with a hard work mentality that continually tries to keep things logical, thought out, and on task toward a goal. Fundamentally, I am a man who is looking to continue to develop a hard work mentality with a passion for the people, coworkers, and things I have in life-CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS- 1) My research has helped to secure a 3-year NSF grant, several professional talks and a forthcoming paper 2) I have expanded my software knowledge into a private business venture with database and data analytics 3) I have been both a President of a college fraternity (Theta Chi) and an honors society (Chi Epsilon Pi National Meteorology Honors Society), simultaneously -CAREER GOALS- 1) I want a career where I feel I am making a significant difference in the lives of others, while staying hungry to continue to develop that passion. 2) Secondly, I want to develop a team- and competitive-attitude with my colleagues to see not only myself succeed, but others as well. 3) I want to grow my skills in investments, business, and innovation to branch my scientific and social ideas into reality-MY PERSONAL TECHNICAL SPECIALITIES- fluent in. statistical theory and modeling (Bayesian and Frequentist) numerical modeling ecosystem modeling forecasting atmospheric sciences software development many different coding languages and theories (e.g, PYTHON, FORTRAN, C++, SQL, R, etc.)
