Background
About Nicholas Murphy
A Father, a Deaf person and, a designer. Graduated from QUT with honours in Industrial design, with minors in Urban and Regional Planning and Interactive and Visual Design at the Queensland University of Technology. My inspiration for Industrial Design comes from the invention of the Cochlear Implant by Professor Graham Clark. As being a deaf member of society, the creation and design of the cochlear implant has influenced myself as a designer to design for people and to solve a problem or need. Design inspires me to challenge and improve myself to achieve my goals. We cannot solve problem with the same thinking we used when we created them. Worked within the design and manufacturing industry as a Product Co-ordinator/Industrial Designer at Rae-Line. Worked in the aluminium industry for Alspec designing systems for residential and commercial systems. Now employed at Acrow who are the Australian leading formwork and scaffolding construction company.
