About Nicholas Schulz

Nicholas Schulz is an Engineering Manager in Resource Innovations’ Utility Services business unit; he is in the Madison, WI office. Nicholas has more than 20 years of mechanical engineering experience and oversees and leads engineers working on MidAmerican Energy’s Nonresidential Energy Solutions program. He manages projects, provides technical support to the program, and ensures consistency and quality of deliverables and services. Nicholas focuses on exceeding customers’ expectations by providing top-notch engineering products delivered with the highest level of customer service. He has forged a culture of performance, reliability, and responsiveness within the engineering team to ensure client satisfaction. He previously served as a Senior Project Engineer providing program assistance and technical support to energy efficiency programs and retro-commissioning services provided by Nexant. The programs he has worked on include MidAmerican Energy Company’s Efficiency Partners program, DTE Energy Company's Retro-commissioning program, Vectren’s Custom Audit and Efficiency program, Vectren’s Commercial New Construction program, and ComEd’s Smart Ideas for Your Business Retrocommissioning program. His responsibilities included performing walk-through energy assessments in commercial and industrial facilities, completing energy analyses and calculations, executing retrocommissioning activities, and completing detailed technical reviews of projects. Prior to joining Nexant, he worked for Jacobs Engineering completing HVAC engineering designs, retrocommissioning, and project management for projects on United States Air Force bases in Korea, Japan, and Alaska. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical) in the State of Wisconsin, holds a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certificate, and holds a Qualified Commissioning Process Provider Certificate (QCxP) certificate.
