About Nicholas Taylor

I am a second year J.D. candidate at the University of Minnesota and aspiring civil litigator. I am pursuing a civil litigation concentration in conjunction with receiving my juris doctorate. My extracurriculars include acting as treasurer of the University of Minnesota's Litigation and Trial Advocacy Group. My work experience includes a judicial clerkship with the honorable Judge Susana Burke in the fourth judicial district court. Prior to law school I worked for two years at a small civil litigation firm as a legal assistant. My legal education has focused on developing skills relevant to civil litigation. I am currently enrolled in business association and corporate law, evidence, professional responsibility (I plan to take the MPRE at the next earliest date), 14th Amendment law, and civil rights and civil liberties moot court. My plan for next semester is to take civil procedure II, remedies, and skill development courses in interviews, counseling, negotiation and trial practice. I also plan to participate in the University of Minnesota housing law clinic. I am ambitious and hard working. I know I want to work as a civil litigator and am seeking mentorship to aid my development. I have extensive work experience with strong legal research and writing skills. Past work experience has trained me to work flexibly, alone or in collaboration, and under significant time constraints. I am looking to work at a law firm, government agency, non-profit, or company seeking a budding legal mind with the ability to immediately contribute to their work environment.
