I am a 3L at New York University School of Law, where I hope to explore the legal and ethical questions raised by emerging technologies. Recently, I have engaged these issues by working on data breach notification rulemaking at the Federal Communications Commission and on risks from biotechnology in conflict-affected zones at the International Committee for the Red Cross. I am particularly interested in studying how administrative law and agencies’ obligations to provide reasoned explanations for their actions will be affected by advances in artificial intelligence and data modelling. My passion for the nexus of law and technology arose from my research experience, which has covered topics from the FDA’s Software as a Medical Device regime and trade secrets justifications for algorithmic opacity to the regulation of public health misinformation and the ethics of neural enhancement.
