About Nicholas Vasil

Hello! I’m Nick, a senior-level creative professional based in Toronto, Canada and I’d love to share more about my professional journey (so far!) with you. I’ve always been in touch with my creative side, ever since I was a kid. My early teens were spent with a few too many hours of teaching myself Photoshop (sorry mom and dad) and a strong yearning to learn as much as I could about photography, video, editing, and digital design. Fun fact: my video editing career began with Windows Movie Maker at 15 years old — and no, I’m not ashamed to admit it. My creative passions led me to study Cinema at the University of Toronto, followed by learning the technical side of production via Toronto Metropolitan University’s (formerly Ryerson University) Radio and Television Arts program. Today, I continue to flex my creative muscles by way of my career as a senior-level television producer on some of Canada’s favourite (and largest) productions, including: Battle of the Generations, Big Brother Canada and The Amazing Race Canada to name a few. I’m a seasoned leader with much experience in creating/ideating and pitching, planning and executing large-scale events and productions, putting together talented teams of people, and prioritizing a diverse and positive workplace that allows any team I work with to thrive. I consider myself to be an expert problem-solver who keeps calm under pressure, all while juggling multiple projects and deadlines. I’m always looking for new opportunities and projects that will bring me unique challenges to work through, and where I can lend my past experiences and positive attitude to the success of whatever I’m working on.
