About Nicholas Watson

I am currently a student at Florida State University studying general music. I chose general music so that I can expand my horizons by incorporating information technology. I believe that these skills are essential to becoming a versatile and effective musician.Music is an ever changing industry and is taking a turn into the world of technology. We can see this a lot in popular music, but modern "classical" composers are beginnging to use tehcnology in their performances and I believe it is important to be a part of this change.As a clarinetist of 10 years, I have been apart of many musical groups ranging from jazz ensembles to college marching band. I have been able to see music on a beginner level to music on a professional level. One thing I have found is that music is continuously evolving and this evolution is brought on by the youth. That is why I am studying child development. Being able to connect with children and teenagers about something I love is important. In that setting, I can share with them something that has changed my life and may be able to influence them to be apart of something that has had a great impact on my life. I continuously strive to give 100% to my work and my passion. Being punctual, engaged, and encouraging in my work environment is essential to my success and to the success of my peers.
