About Nick Bateman

As Director of Developer Services at MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) from 2017 to 2019 I led the Project Management and Delivery teams in their London and Northampton offices. I joined the Museum of London’s Archaeology Department in 1981, having previously worked on sites around the UK. I was the principal Site Director for MOLAS'(later MOLA's) London Roman Amphitheatre excavations from 1987 to 1997, have extensive experience of directing large excavations and post-excavation analysis projects in London, and a wide experience of archaeology abroad. As a project manager (1998-2012) I delivered dozens of succesful projects for major clients including Land Securities, Skanska, Bovis, the NHS, Heron Property and CORE. Larger projects include 30 Gresham Street, Paternoster Square, the London Olympic Park (2004-2009), One New Change, Shrewsbury Welsh Bridge, and Barts Hospital. I am the author of over 30 academic articles, papers and books, am a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIFA) and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
