About Nick Bouknight

Nick Bouknight is Vice President of Federal Affairs at NAMIC where he utilizes his relationships and experience from nearly two decades of work in policy and politics to represent NAMIC before Congress and federal agencies. Most recently he was a partner at Capitol Counsel, where he helped the firm’s clients navigate the GOP-led House of Representatives. Prior to joining Capitol Counsel, Nick spent most of his career working for the former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy or the political groups he supported. He ran the hard-dollar arm of the House Republican Leadership endorsed Super PAC – Congressional Leadership Fund – in the 2022 election cycle. In the 2020 and 2018 election cycles, he was Executive Director of Kevin McCarthy’s national political operation. He also was a day-one staffer for Kevin McCarthy after he assumed office in 2007, working as his Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director in his congressional office. Nick also has extensive policy and communications experience, having served as Director of Issue Advocacy at the American Action Network, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting center-right policies. Nick has also worked on the communications staff of the House Ways and Means Committee and for the California State Senate Republican Leader. Nick earned his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and B.S. in Economics from Villanova University. He resides in Washington, DC with his wife and three children.
