About Nick Canto

Nick Canto is an executive, engineer and entrepreneur with 24 years of experience in the infrastructure and energy sectors. He is currently the Managing Director of icubed consulting, a Brisbane based Development Consulting practice, specialising in Renewable Energy and Infrastructure projects. Founded by Nick in 2003, icubed today employs over 40 dedicated professionals. Since inception, icubed has consulted on over 3GW of constructed Wind Energy Projects across Australia. In late 2015, Nick founded Yarranlea Solar to develop a 121.5MWp PV Solar project 50km South West of Toowoomba to demonstrate the broad capabilities of icubed consulting to the sector. Its success and subsequent sale to Risen Energy, has resulted in icubed being commissioned to manage the approval of over 1GW of PV Solar and Battery Storage projects across Queensland and NSW. Nicks’ depth of knowledge and expertise in energy project development is sought out by developers to provide expert strategic advice across a range of technologies. Nick grew up in Country Queensland and following his senior school and tertiary education in Toowoomba, he worked in a range of Technical and Executive Engineering roles in Toowoomba and Melbourne. He lives in Brisbane with his wife, two teenage children and twin Dachshunds. Nick is keen cyclist, is passionate about the environment and using his skills to leave a meaningful legacy for the next generation.
