About Nick Chipman

It has been an fascinating ride,from working with a privately owned investment group working on solving problems,running functions and running businesses,to working in the auto industry through the challenges of the Button plan and the global reform of the automotive sector,to the global risk finance and risk management fields based in London to the oil,gas and mining sectors everywhere,exposure to the good the bad and the ugly of business has been the essence of my business life,culminating in key roles across the partnership at pwc. Along the way the opportunity to travel to and work in more than 40 countries,study at Harvard Business School,and work with such talented and professional people has made the ride both challenging and enjoyable.The opportunity to coach,develop and educate teams and individuals ranks as a highlight,as well as having impact on things that really matter such as some of the worlds major investment decisions,mega projects,critical failures and recovery from failures including the recent Royal Commission into Financial Services in Australia and advancing the thinking behind better understanding questions of risk and human factors. My best friend and wife of 30 + years, as well as the support of my three magnificent children(now 20 and 30 something adults) have underpinned all this.as has my love of music(see photo),sport and business. What happens next is of equal interest.after 20+ years with the firm,I want to take on some new and rewarding challenges.The work with several start ups and emerging business models has been inspiring and rewarding-no matter how new the venture the need for some grey hair and experience matters.I have been retained to help the firm with some complex client and related work whilst I explore the next chapter(s).what a privilege it has been to work in and on, one of the world's great firms on client issues that really do matter.
