About Nick Dowling

I am an experienced public and private company Director, experienced CEO, and a recognised leader in the national residential real estate industry. My experience and portfolio are focused on real estate sales and marketing, property management, technology, finance, and the build to rent sector. I am a growth oriented leader. As CEO and Director of the Jellis Craig Group for 12 years I led the growth of the business from 150 to over staff across a network of 40 offices in mid-inner Melbourne and selective lifestyle locations. Over the past 6 years, I have played a key role as a Non Executive Director of REA Group, assisting in the strategic planning, management and governance of one of the world’s leading real estate portals. As REA Group Chair of the Remuneration Committee, I am also responsible for overseeing HR related areas of the business. In early 2024, I joined Assemble as a Non Executive Director (Australian Super nominee). Assemble are a leader in the Australian Build to Rent sector, focused on large scale development of sustainable, affordable and well designed homes and neighbourhoods. Prior to joining the Jellis Craig Group, I played a pivotal role in the growth of the Macquarie Group business bank. As Division Director, I was responsible for setting up a specialised team in property and real estate, which today remains a very successful and integral part of the Banking and Financial Services division of Macquarie. I have a keen interest in the not for profit sector having served as a Founding Director of both the Jellis Craig Foundation, and Rise Initiative Ltd. Both organisations focus on the societal challenges of mental health and homelessness.
