About Nick Haas

In 2017, I completed the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) program at Southwest Illinois College and immediately began my career as a licensed mechanic specializing in Gulfstream aircraft. I returned to SWIC and earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in 2018. Since obtaining my license, I have been with the same company, advancing from Technician 1 to Lead within five years of being with the company. Currently, I lead projects in the Gulfstream Department, working on a range of airframes including the G150, G200, G280, GIV, G450, GV, G550, and G650. My responsibilities have included overseeing significant projects such as wing de-mates, pressurized skin section removals and replacements, as well as managing repairs and modifications following major inspections. Additionally, I have gained structural experience on Bombardier BD-700 airframes. While my primary focus has shifted to leading maintenance projects, I still assist structural mechanics whenever possible. In early 2022, I completed the CAE G550 initial training course, accumulating 80 hours of instruction. In the summer of 2023, I attended and successfully completed the Flight Safety initial G150 maintenance course, which lasted three weeks. I am currently seeking to further enhance my expertise in leading projects across all Gulfstream airframes. I genuinely enjoy coming to work each day, collaborating with my team to address any challenges that arise.
