About Nick Kime

My goal is to continuously be learning. I enjoy new challenges and new experiences. I look forward to meeting new people and sharing knowledge. My IT career has taken me though product development, project management, program management and into IT road-mapping. I'm role at Jack Henry combines my diverse program management experience with my skills and interest in AI/ML. Projects with diverse and distributed teams have given me a strong ability to work with different personalities and backgrounds. I’ve utilized the DISC personalities model and RESULTS communication matrix to craft messages and understand how they will be received. I am comfortable building relationships across departments in order to remove roadblocks and complete projects. From a team perspective I focus on relationship building first. Team building activities benefit individuals, teams, and the company. At an individual and technical level I encourage “T” shaped IDP growth objectives. A strong depth in one area goes a lot farther with a surface level understanding of other areas. The focus needs to be on holistic completion of work items. From a process perspective efficiency comes from consistency followed by continuous incremental improvement. The idea of improving each iteration has to be built into the process. Waiting until the end of a project to complete a Lessons Learned document doesn’t allow for improvement during the project. I’ve worked extensively on projects using both waterfall and agile(scrum). I have also provided training in both. For large scale agile efforts I have been using Scrum of Scrums while currently evaluating Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). I’m also a proponent of base-lining existing processes through documentation. This gives the team a guide to improve from and helps communicate changes. Some of my projects have been implemented within a Product Development Life Cycle and Software Development Life Cycle that I collaborated on. Financial Management – Each financial decision could be considered a project/program. I work to validate business cases and forecasts. I also establish metrics to ensure financial objects are tracked and achieved. This allows you to make decisions more quickly based on variance. Being able to take care of the details gives you more information to make the business decisions.
