About Nick Lemasonry

I’m a dedicated and highly motivated software engineer entering my final year of a BSc in Software Engineering for Business at the University of the West of England. Alongside full-time study, I’ve worked full-time in industry—progressing from a Software Integration Engineer to my current role as Head of Software & Data at GM61. In this role, I lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, cloud-based software systems. I architect full-stack solutions, build custom APIs, manage complex system integrations, and deliver secure environments using Microsoft Azure. My technical toolkit includes Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS, SQL, and PowerShell—underpinned by a strong focus on clean architecture, automation, and performance. I’ve delivered large-scale digital transformations, replacing legacy systems with bespoke reporting platforms I built in Power BI. These solutions provide deep business insights, supported by custom ETL pipelines and APIs I developed to extract and standardise data from diverse third-party systems. I also design and manage the Azure environments these platforms run on, ensuring long-term scalability and security. Beyond software development, I’ve led GM61 to achieve Cyber Essentials certification and am now managing the move to Cyber Essentials Plus. I oversee Azure infrastructure—including SQL databases, containers, VMs, and networking—and lead a team of data analysts to deliver client-focused outcomes. I also handle stakeholder engagements, ensuring that technical delivery aligns with business goals. Earlier in my career, I completed a one-month software development internship with Promedital in Italy, focusing on API integration between third-party systems and in-house software. This experience gave me a solid foundation in enterprise software engineering and continues to inform my approach today. Balancing full-time study with full-time leadership in a fast-paced, client-facing role has sharpened both my technical and strategic skills. I’m committed to building impactful software systems, collaborating with high-performing teams, and continually growing as a technical leader.
