About Nick Merchant

I was told I knew East from West before I knew right from left. Apparently, I was always a geographer. This was etched in stone in 2009 when I represented Ohio in the National Geographic Bee. In 2013, I began working towards my Bachelor of Arts in Geography through the Ohio State University's Arts and Sciences Honors program. I used the skills I gained in my classes to assist the City of Dublin as a GIS Intern. There, I've worked under some of the most talented GIS professionals in the country, while gaining hands-on experience of cartography and spatial analysis in the realm of city government. I also gained the opportunity to originate and fabricate my own ideas including the soon-to-be-released social mapping web app, My Dublin. In May 2017, I graduated from Ohio State (summa cum laude) and I am excited to continue exploring the diverse applications of geographic information systems. I hope to share my GIS acumen and passion with a vibrant and innovative organization.
