About Nick Mwai

Nick is the Founder and CEO of Pumapa Capital, an impact investment firm based in Nairobi, Kenya focused on breaking down barriers to investment opportunities, making them inclusive and innovative. Nick is also the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Living Walls Africa, a real estate development company that works to provide renewable, sustainable, scalable and affordable housing solutions to low-income communities. Nick focuses on impact investment with a passion for tackling societal issues in Africa. He believes that investment can be a powerful force for good and that profitable businesses can also have a positive impact on society. Nick is excited about the tremendous opportunities that Africa has to offer. He not only sees a continent with a young and growing population, abundant natural resources and a strong entrepreneurial spirit but also sees a continent that faces many challenges such as poverty, exploitation, inequality and climate crisis. Nick is committed to using his investment expertise to help Africa overcome these challenges and create a better future for all its people. He focuses investment on businesses that are aligned with his values, such as those that are creating jobs, promoting food security, creating an onramp to services and providing access to housing, water, electricity, education and healthcare. Nick believes that investment can be a powerful catalyst for lasting change in Africa. He is working on building a more equitable and sustainable future for the continent, one investment at a time. Nick has worked in investment banking since 2010, with experience in the United States, Switzerland and Kenya. He has served as the Head of Corporate Finance for Dry Associates as well as International Green Structures. He holds an MBA in Finance from the International University in Geneva, Switzerland and a BBA from Adelphi University in New York, USA. Nick also serves as a Director for FreshCrop (a top potato seed producer in Kenya) and ForestFoods (a syntropic agroforestry company helping bring regenerative agricultural practices back to the continent).
