About Nick Nelson

With over 10 years of experience in emergency nursing and point of injury medical support, I am currently the Program Director of Expeditionary Medical Support (EMEDS) at the United States Air Force (USAF). In this role, I oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the EMEDS program, which provides rapid and flexible medical capabilities to support global operations and humanitarian missions. As a certified Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist and Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, I bring both clinical and leadership expertise to the EMEDS program, as well as skills in medical training, administration, and communication. Prior to this role, I served as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Emergency Department at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage AK, where I provided advanced nursing care, education, and consultation to patients, families, and staff. My mission is to deliver high-quality and compassionate medical care to those in need, and to contribute to the readiness and resilience of my patients and staff.
