About Nick Saunders

As I begin my role as an Application Engineer I at FUTEK, I’m excited to apply and continue building on my mechanical engineering expertise to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions in sensor technology. This opportunity follows my previous experience as an Application Engineering Intern at FUTEK, where I gained hands-on exposure to precision instrumentation and customer-focused engineering solutions. Prior to joining FUTEK full-time, I played a key role on the Mesa Motorsports Formula SAE team, focusing on chassis integration and the design and fabrication of critical components like the steering system, push bar, and jack stand. This experience sharpened my technical skills and strengthened my ability to collaborate and problem-solve in high-pressure, competitive environments. My earlier roles in outdoor gear and bicycle maintenance at REI and Jax Bicycles also helped develop my attention to detail, commitment to quality service, and mechanical intuition—qualities that I bring with me into every engineering challenge. I recently earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Colorado Mesa University, and I’m passionate about using my skills to develop engineering solutions that drive real-world impact. At FUTEK, I look forward to contributing to projects at the intersection of innovation, precision, and performance.
