About Nick Sautner

I have over 25 years’ experience in stadium economics and have adopted a transformational approach to the management of public good infrastructure in my roles at The Eden Park Trust, Colonial Stadium, Telstra Dome, Etihad Stadium, Domain Stadium, and the West Australian Football Commission through my strategic and authentic leadership style. I have successfully led commercial, marketing and communications strategies to generate sales, grow revenue activities and increase utilisation of both new and established stadium facilities. A continual focus on fostering innovation and developing strong relationships has seen the procurement of numerous major sport, entertainment, religious and cultural events in Victoria, West Australia and New Zealand. My thorough understanding of stadium economics was developed and enhanced during the restructuring of the Marvel Stadium financial model on two occasions, along with securing the extension of the Etihad Airways naming rights in Melbourne and securing the Domain Stadium naming rights in Western Australia. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to enhancing my business acumen as well as acquiring further technical skills and knowledge. I have studied in China, Germany and the USA. Outside of work, I played 260 VFL matches and won 5 premierships with Sandringham and 2 VAFA premierships with Wesley Collegians. Amongst a number of individual honours, I kicked 883 goals in the VFL competition and hold the competition record for leading goal kicker. In 2019 I was proud to receive the Executive of the Year award at TheStadiumBusiness Summit, and Venue Executive of the Year and Supreme Venue Person of the Year at the EVANZ Awards. I proudly became a Certified Venue Executive in 2020 with IAVM and was a finalist in the New Zealand Leadership Awards in 2025. As part of my commitment to the community, I sit on The Auckland Children's Christmas Parade Trust, the Akarana Marine Sports Trust and am a member of the British New Zealand Business Association Board.
