About Nick Shearman

With a practical background as an enthusiastic service industry professional, I am an experienced and effective leader, a compelling visual merchandiser and product marketer, with a decade of experience managing stores & staffs in large specialty retailers, in the outdoor sports industry. My professional and volunteer experience has been entirely public-facing and engaging, cultivating a wholehearted, empathetic, and resourceful approach to customer service and problem solving. An avid Kayaker, Cyclist and Backpacker, I have experience ice climbing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, hiking across the Mid Atlantic, and paddling throughout Maryland’s waterways. I strive to inspire others to be conservation-minded by safely and thoughtfully discovering the outdoors. I take an active role in my community by fostering relationships with citizens, mentoring youth, and providing resources to underserved neighborhoods. I have traveled to Gwagwalada, Nigeria to build clean water wells, to teach English and Math, and to provide food and clothing outreach. While working throughout college, I provided after school tutoring to elementary and middle public school students in the Allendale, Perkins Homes and Sandtown-Winchester neighborhoods of Baltimore City.
