About Nick Strauser

As a solution-driven Digital Imaging Technician with 15+ years of experience, I am constantly expanding my skill set and staying up-to-date with the latest technology with every project. Drawing from a diverse background, I navigate complexities and communicate technical details effectively, thriving under pressure. Starting as a production assistant and camera PA taught me the structure and etiquette of a film set, laying the groundwork for my journey in the industry. At CalArts, I delved into the technical aspects of shooting on traditional film, using equipment like the Oxberry animation stand and optical printer. This involved meticulous planning and mathematical precision, often requiring complex layering of matte shots and multiple exposures for each frame. Throughout my career, I've demonstrated problem-solving abilities and technical proficiency. I've salvaged data from camera cards, repaired corrupted hard drives, and developed a MacOS app for custom frame lines on the Sony Venice. Currently, I'm working on an app to automate tasks and alert users to abnormalities in digital imaging workflows. Looking ahead, I aim to further develop software and provide advisory solutions to optimize workflows in my field.
