About Nick Tillman

Nick Tillman and his family have been a staple in the North County area of San Diego since the early 1900's. He is married to an amazing woman, who is the mother of two of his three children. He grew up in the Tri-City area of North County San Diego (Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Vista) where he played Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Track & Field at Carlsbad High School. After High School he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served proudly. After the Marines he became an electrician where he led a team to make Southern California more energy efficient. At 32 his life completely changed, he gave his life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He went back to college, which is when he met his wife. He graduated with honors with a BA, in Applied Behavioral Science from Ashford Univ, and a MEd in Secondary Education in the Social Sciences from Grand Canyon University. He was working as a substitute teacher for over 5 years in the Carlsbad Unified School District, as well as coaching football at his alma mater Carlsbad High School. In 2020 he started looking for alternative career paths and One San Diego Financial Strategies, Inc opened his eyes to an opportunity to become a Financial Professional and extend his knowledge of the Financial Services Industry. What attracted Nick to One San Diego Financial Strategies, Inc was their philosophy around helping individuals and families, by always putting the clients first. He got into financial services to help his community, and he feels with the processes and viewpoints that One San Diego Financial Strategies has, he can do just that. One San Diego Financial Strategies, Inc is based locally in Carlsbad, CA. In 2023 he got hired by UEI College in Oceanside to be an Electrician Technician Instructor. He gets the opportunity to change lives and inspire future electricians on a daily basis. He loves his students, his coworkers, bosses, and really enjoys what he does for a living. Go Sharks! After trying my hand at financial advisor, I realized that is not what our Heavenly Father wants me to do. My spiritual gift is teaching, but I can’t teach in California because you have to get the covid shot to teach in this state. I’m currently working for a franchise called UGPS who is a delivering franchise that works with Amazon. My passion is teaching and coaching, but until I leave this state or they change their policy, I’ll continue to keep my head down and do the best I can wherever I’m at.
