About Nick Tran

I am a scientist, entrepreneur, and author of The Cartesian Machine ( a 500 page novel about neural extensibility, ) I am most passionate about protecting our environment and I have found start-up companies (NanoBMT, LLC; Ecogents, LLC; Oceanoco, Inc.) to solve the global health, energy and climate change problems. I’m currently seeking venture capital for a massive engineering project, HiPME, which could result in a $4.3 trillion ROI and cut our current atmospheric level of CO2 (415 ppm) to the pre-industrial, 1750 level (280ppm) within 10 years. I hold a Ph.D in chemistry from the UT at Austin where I performed graduate work in the areas of synthesis and electrochemistry of nanomaterials. As a post-doc and federal government scientist, I conducted multidisciplinary research for the U.S. Navy, which included basic and applied research in the areas nanoscience, corrosion science, energetic materials, and renewable energy, for which I was awarded the Edison Award by the U.S. Navy and U.S. patents.
